Hi, I'm Tyler G. Lynch — a writer-director, educator, and story consultant with an MFA in Screenwriting from UCLA and over five years of experience helping creatives strengthen their stories. I work closely with creators to build strong narrative foundations — from character arcs to emotional through-lines to dynamic structure. Whether you're starting a new draft or polishing a near-finished script, I offer clear, encouraging, and actionable support to help bring your vision to life.

How I Work

I believe every story has a heartbeat — and the best revisions are about amplifying that pulse, not erasing the writer’s original voice.

My feedback is collaborative, clear, and focused on the story you want to tell.

I highlight strengths, identify opportunities for growth, and provide practical next steps, so you feel empowered — not overwhelmed — as you move into your next draft.

About Me

Tyler G. Lynch is a writer-director originally from right outside Philadelphia. The quietest of three siblings, she was always searching for creative ways to use her voice, whether through movement, performance, or ultimately, storytelling. She studied the foundations of writing at Sarah Lawrence College and expanded into film while earning her MFA in Screenwriting at UCLA, where she received the John H. & Patricia W. Mitchell Scholarship.

While in film school, she was a Finalist in the 2024 Essence Film Festival Screenwriting Competition and sold her first feature to a former BET executive. In the midst of her parents’ tumultuous divorce, her grandmother’s sudden passing from COVID, and her younger sister surviving a school shooting, Tyler realized how much emotional weight she carried for others as an empath. Confronting the impact of these experiences on her mental health, she found her voice in character-driven dramas that explore the tension between vulnerability and resilience.
